Why we point you off our own website

Any contractor can put five glowing quotes on a page and attribute them to first names. Reviews on Google and the BBB are attached to real accounts, cannot be quietly deleted by us when one goes badly, and show you the full picture including anything that did not go perfectly. That is a more useful thing for you to read than a curated selection we chose ourselves.

It also means the number on this page will drift out of date between updates. The live figure on our Google Business Profile is always the accurate one. If what you see there is different from what is written above, believe Google.

How to read a roofing company's reviews properly

Roofing attracts more out-of-town operators than almost any other trade, and reviews are the easiest thing for a short-lived company to manufacture. If you are comparing us against two or three other bids, here is what is actually worth looking at — applied to us or anybody else:

  • Dates, not just the average. Twenty reviews spread over six years reads very differently from twenty reviews posted in the same fortnight. Clusters of reviews immediately after a hail event, from accounts with no other activity, are the classic pattern.
  • Whether reviews mention specifics. A real customer names the crew lead, says how long the job took, mentions the thing that went slightly sideways and how it was handled. Manufactured reviews are generic and enthusiastic and could be about any trade.
  • How the company answers the bad ones. Every company with real volume has at least one unhappy customer. What matters is whether the reply engages with what happened or attacks the reviewer.
  • Local place names. Reviews that mention actual neighbourhoods — Pecan Grove, Quail Valley, Cinco Ranch — are harder to fake than reviews that just say "great job".
  • Whether the company still exists at the same address. Storm-chasing outfits rebrand. A BBB profile with years of history behind it is a slower thing to fabricate than a review page.

The rest of the homework, while you are at it

Texas does not issue a statewide roofing contractor licence, which surprises most homeowners and is worth knowing before somebody waves a laminated card at you. Because there is no state licence to check, the verification falls to you, and it is short:

  • Ask for a certificate of insurance sent to you directly from the insurance agent, not forwarded as a PDF by the contractor.
  • Ask for the physical business address and check that it is a real one.
  • Ask for two addresses of completed work within a few miles of you, and go and look at them from the street.
  • Get the scope in writing, line by line, before any money changes hands. Underlayment, flashing, ventilation and decking replacement rates should all be on the page.
  • Be careful with anybody who needs a signature today. Real companies are still there next week.

We are happy to be checked on all five. If a contractor gets uncomfortable when you ask, that discomfort is the answer.

When a job does not go perfectly

Roofing is outdoor work on a structure that has been sitting in the weather for twenty years. Sometimes the decking underneath is worse than anybody could see from the surface, sometimes weather moves a schedule, sometimes a detail gets missed. What we ask is that you call us at (281) 202-4382 before writing anything, because we can nearly always fix the thing while a crew is still in the area. A review that says we came back and sorted it is worth more to us than one that never mentions a problem at all.

Had work done by us?

If we have worked on your house, a review on Google genuinely helps — it is how most of our neighbours find us. It does not need to be long. What the roof was, roughly when, and whether we did what we said we would is plenty.

Common Questions

Can I speak to a previous customer?

Yes. Ask us at the inspection and we will give you addresses of work we have done nearby and contacts who are happy to talk. We will try to give you one in your own neighbourhood where we can.

What is your rating on Google?

4.8 stars from 24 reviews at the time this page was last updated. The live figure on our Google Business Profile is always the current one.

Why do you not have hundreds of reviews?

Because we are a local company doing a manageable number of jobs a year, not a volume operation running crews across three states. The reviews we have are from people who live near you.

Do you offer anything for leaving a review?

No. Paying for reviews is against Google's rules and it would make the rating meaningless, which defeats the point of having one.

Can I see photos of your actual work?

Yes — there are project photographs on this site, and we will bring more relevant ones to the inspection once we know what kind of roof you have.
